Overview

Players on the 2020-21 9u AAA Independent team will have a complete travel hockey experience and compete against top competition in the region. Our primary goal is to create a fun and competitive environment where every player can develop their skills and a passion for the game. Our programming this season is highly focused on player development so that each player is equipped with the skills necessary to advance and excel at the next level. Review the Program Overview to learn more about our development program.


 

Head Coach Jeff Topor |   

Jeff Topor is has been with the organization for several years working with our 8U players as an assistant coach, most recently on our 8U Red team. 

 

 

Assistant Coach Dave Insalaco

Dave Insalaco is returning as an assistant coach for the 2011 birth year. He is serving his 13th season as assistant coach for the RIT men’s NCAA Division I hockey program. During his time with RIT, the Tigers won three Atlantic Hockey championships, including a trip to the 2010 NCAA Division I Frozen Four. A Rochester native, Insalaco played for SUNY Brockport and is the 7th all-time leading goal scorer and 10th in points. He played two seasons of professional hockey with the Green Bay Gamblers of the United States Hockey League.

  • Three-day training camp in August
  • One 60-minute shared practices per week
  • One 60-minute full ice practice per week
  • One 75-minute advanced skills development sessions per week by RIC Academy
  • Monthly goaltender training sessions
  • Monthly off-ice training sessions at Next Level Strength & Conditioning

Games:40-50 total

  • 20-25 independent schedule games

  • Volunteer and community event
  • Fundraising opportunities

Composition of team:

  • 13-14 skaters
  • 1-2 goaltenders

Budget Estimate:

  • Dues: $2,000-2,500
  • Apparel and equipment not included
  • Tournaments and miscellaneous team expenses not included in dues (Approx. $500 per player)
  • Fundraising opportunites are available
