Players on the 2020-21 10u AAA Independent team will have a complete travel hockey experience and compete against elite level competition. Our primary goal is to create a fun and competitive environment where every player can develop their skills and a passion for the game. Our programming this season is highly focused on player development so that each player is equipped with the skills necessary to advance and excel at the next level. Head Coach Nathan Paetsch |
Nathan Paetsch is returning as head coach for the 2010 birth year team in the 2020-21season. Coach Paetsch has an extensive hockey background including 15 years of professional hockey and 160 games in the NHL with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Buffalo Sabres. He ranks among the top scoring defensemen in Rochester Americans history and has played in more than 100 Calder Cup playoff games in the American Hockey League. Coach Paetsch is also an instructor with the Rochester Ice Center Hockey Academy where he leads the Nathan Paetsch School of Defensemen. He offers clinics and private lessons to help defensemen develop their skills. A native of LeRoy, Saskatchewan, Coach Paetsch now resides in Spencerport with his family.
Head Coach Francois Methot |
Francois Methot is Hockey General Manager for Perinton Youth Hockey and has been an integral part of PYH's Rochester Monarchs AAA program as the Director of Hockey for almost five years. He's coached several Monarchs teams during his time with PYH, and led the Monarchs 14U team to a run for the national championship in 2018. Methot is a beloved skills coach to many players at PYH and around the region. Players of all ages, from mites to college and professional hockey teams, including the Nashville Predators, work with him to develop their hockey skills.
A native of Montreal, Quebec, Methot was a 3rd round NHL draft pick of the Buffalo Sabres in 1996 out of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). Methot spent the the first five seasons of his professional career with the Rochester Americans (AHL) playing in 334 regular season games with the club and another 39 Calder Cup playoff contests. After a season with the Portland Pirates in the AHL, Methot moved on to a very successful career in Europe until he retired from playing professionally.
