Overview

Players on the 2020-21 13u AA2 team will have a complete travel hockey experience. Our primary goal is to create a fun and competitive environment where every player can develop their skills and a passion for the game. Our programming this season is highly focused on player development so that each player is equipped with the skills necessary to advance and excel at the next level. Head Coach Anthony Rizzi 

Coach Anthony Rizzi grew up in Niskayuna, NY where he played youth hockey for Schenectady County. He attended Niskayuna High School and played varsity hockey included being team captain and a 1st team all-suburban council his senior year. After graduation, Anthony focused on baseball and played one season at SUNY Fredonia. However, he decided to return to hockey and played for the Junior B Springfield Indians and then went on to play three years with the Buffalo State Division III hockey team.
 
Coach Rizzi is a level 3 USA hockey certified coach. He has been coaching for 8 years.
 
Outside the rink, Coach Rizzi is an Applications Developer for a law firm in Rochester. He lives in Pittsford with his wife Shawna, son Griffin (12), and daughter Peyton (9). During the summer, he coaches 12U travel baseball. He also enjoys watching sports, playing men’s league hockey and spending time with friends and family.

   

Season Forecast

 
Duration: August 1, 2020 - March 15, 2021
 

Practices:

  • Two 50-minute shared practices per week
  • Two 50-minute full ice practice per month
  • Two 75-minute advanced skills development sessions per month by RIC Academy
  • Two optional advanced skills development sessions per month by RIC Academy for 11u and 12u players. (no extra cost)
  • Monthly goaltender training sessions
  • Monthly off-ice training sessions at Next Level Strength & Conditioning

* All practices, skills sessions and off-ice training sessions are included. No requirements for additional camps, clinics, or spring hockey.

Games:40-50 total

  • 25-30 independent and league games
  • 20 tournament games. Two local and two destination 

Events:

  • Rochester Americans and RIT hockey games
  • Preseason team party
  • End of season team party
  • Volunteer and community event
  • Fundraising opportunities

Composition of team:

  • 13-14 skaters
  • 1-2 goaltenders

Budget Estimate:

  • Dues: $1,300-$1,500 per player
  • Apparel and equipment not included
  • Tournaments and miscellaneous team expenses not included in dues (Approx. $400 per player)
